Product launch event
What a product launch is, its stages, and the launch events we produce in Mexico and Peru: press conferences, showrooms and BTL. Proposal in 48 hours.

A product launch is the planned process a company follows to bring a new product to market and introduce it to its customers. The launch event is the day the brand unveils it in person, and the right format depends on the audience that needs to act afterward: the press, distributors or customers.
At eBombo, we produce launch events for companies in Mexico and Peru from our offices in Mexico City and Lima. We choose the format based on that audience and handle the entire production, all the way to the results report at the end.
What is a product launch and what is it for?
A product launch is the set of marketing and communication efforts that support a product's market debut, from the first announcement until it gains traction. Companies use it to introduce a new line or an improved version, and brands use it when they expand into a new city or country.
When it's well planned, a launch pursues clear goals:
- Put the product and the brand in the spotlight from day one.
- Communicate its value proposition against the competition and build positioning.
- Drive early sales and generate leads for your sales team.
- Build relationships with the journalists, distributors and influencers who will talk about the product.
- Prepare and motivate the sales team that will sell it.
An event packs several of these goals into a few hours because it puts the product directly in your audience's hands. That's why it should be designed as part of your communication strategy, with its own objectives and metrics.
The stages of a product launch
A launch has three stages: pre-launch, launch and post-launch. The unveiling happens in the second stage, but it's prepared in the first and leveraged in the third.
- Pre-launch. Market and target audience research, the launch plan, teasers and buzz on social media. What the event contributes: a set date, venue and format, media invitations and content to announce it.
- Launch. The official market release, advertising campaigns and promotions. What the event contributes: the staging, the demos and same-day coverage.
- Post-launch. Measuring results, customer reviews, sales follow-up and strategy adjustments. What the event contributes: content, contacts and a report for the next campaigns.
Types of launches: soft, minimal and large-scale
The scope of the launch determines the size of the production:
- Soft. A soft launch releases the product to a small group or a single city to gauge interest before investing in big campaigns, and a private presentation for key clients is usually enough.
- Minimal. It relies on word of mouth, social media and your existing customer base, with an in-store activation or a tasting.
- Large-scale. It combines advertising, press and influencers from day one and calls for a full production.
Types of launch events we produce
Each format speaks to a different audience, and many companies combine two within the same strategy. These are the formats we produce in Mexico and Peru.
Launch press conference
A press conference introduces the product to journalists with a clear message and a spokesperson prepared for the Q&A session. We handle the venue design, audiovisual production, press kit and on-site coordination, and afterward we track the media coverage.
Showroom for distributors and clients
A showroom is an exhibition space where distributors and buyers try out the new product with hosts who know its key selling points. It works for launches in technology, manufacturing, consumer goods and automotive, and it can also go on the road to present in several cities.
Conference or keynote
For products that need explaining, like software or technology, the launch takes the form of a conference: a keynote with live demos and networking time. We produce the agenda and the technical setup, in person or hybrid.
Brand activation and BTL
When the audience is the end consumer, the product hits the street with sampling and pop-up stores at retail locations or shopping malls, staffed by trained brand ambassadors. We cover these formats in brand activations and BTL events.
Launching at trade shows and booths
If your industry has a trade show or convention, launching there puts your product in front of the sector's buyers and distributors in just a few days. We design and build your trade show booth with an area where visitors can try the product.
How to plan a product launch step by step
Planning an in-person launch follows a five-step process (objective, venue, attendee experience, production and measurement), and we work with your marketing team at every step.
1. Objective, audience and message
We define what needs to happen next, such as press coverage, distributor orders or lead sign-ups, and who needs to be convinced. With that, we choose the format and the core message, which the spokesperson rehearses ahead of time.
2. Venue, format and production
The venue needs the capacity and technical setup the format requires, in a location that's easy for guests to reach: a convention center for a conference, or a converted industrial space for a showroom, a format we recommend in Monterrey for launches and brand activations. We produce the stage, audio, lighting, screens and decor.
3. Attendee experience and content
We design what every guest experiences: the script for the staging and the demos where people try the product. We add a photo booth (classic, 360 or magic mirror) so attendees share on social media and boost the product's visibility, plus branded merch kits for press and guests.
4. On-site production
On event day, we coordinate vendors and schedules, with on-site production from start to finish. If you need it, we add photography and video so you have content that same day.
5. Follow-up and measurement
We wrap up with a post-event report documenting attendance, social media mentions, published press coverage and product interactions, along with sales recommendations. With those results, your team can fine-tune its post-launch campaigns and measure sales success over the first few months.

Product launch FAQs
How far in advance should you plan a launch event?
If press and a venue are involved, we recommend starting at least eight weeks before the date. That window covers booking the venue and production, and leaves room to build interest and buzz on social media during the pre-launch.
How much does a product launch event cost?
The cost depends on the format, number of attendees, venue and audiovisual production. Every proposal is custom-quoted: we send you options with pricing in under 48 hours so you can compare.
Which channels work best for a launch in Latin America?
Social media (especially Instagram and TikTok) and the press offer the greatest reach, while influencers and live events feed them content. A live unveiling generates press coverage and material for the influencers you invite.
What's the most common mistake when launching a product?
Losing momentum after the event. The post-launch phase lasts for months, so we design every production with its follow-up built in: content for your campaigns and a report on what worked for sales.
